The band has made great strides towards becoming legends of the corrido with their smart songwriting and tireless touring. Their most recent album, Historias de la Calle reached No.1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart and their hit single “La Gripa” stayed on Top of the charts for several weeks. The group members are, Eden Muñoz (vocals, accordion), Armando Ramos (guitars, backing vocals), Alex Gaxiola (tuba), and Erick García (drums). Originally from Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Calibre 50 is a charting, award-winning quartet founded in 2010. In recent years, Gerardo Ortiz has dominated Regional Mexican music by winning prestigious awards including seventeen Premios Billboard de la Música Mexicana, nine Premio Lo Nuestro awards, earning six Platinum records as certified by the RIAA, and selling out festivals, dancehalls and arenas across the United States and Mexico. But his life story is just as remarkable as his songs…and that is why his fans recognize his authenticity. His lyrics are fascinating and unforgettable. His musical themes are modern, with original musical arrangements, generally built around the tuba, accordion and acoustic guitar.
